The First Post

Welcome, reader, to this new place for writings on the nature of peace and the continuous search for it. It is my hope that this page can serve as an inspiration and a guide to any who find it in their own personal search.

I will begin by presenting a few tenets for a life full of inner peace and happiness. Before these tenets, though, reside what are the two most important lessons ever given to humanity:

You shall love the Lord thy God will all your mind, body, and soul, and
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

These incorporate all other lessons of goodness and peace, and are the most essential teachings in the universe. I also believe in the goodness and efficacy of an absolute respect and loyalty to family, and to friends.

And now, here are some tenets to cultivate a life of inner peace, much like a gardener cultivates a bed of flowers that will bear fruit.

The first tenet is this: guides like this are numberless; the individual is one.

Inner peace is something that can only be cultivated in a personal, individual way. One could follow any such guide to the letter and not find inner peace unless one is able to look at the experience in a loving, careful, and considerate way. In any quest, or activity, always consider how you feel. Allow your inner thoughts to be free, and never hesitate to laugh at the way you are acting.

The second tenet is this: mindfulness in all things.

In any thing that you may do, always retain your thoughts. Learn to realize your distractions, and rather than eradicating them, recognize them and learn them well. Total eradication of distraction is not desirable. Temporary postponement of distraction is what is known as focus. Allow your mind to focus always on your intended thought, but do not treat yourself harshly when you stray.

The third tenet is: concern for health and well being.

Whether it be your own, your family's, or your friend's, always be considerate and caring of health and well being. In doing so, come to realize that all follow different roads to health and happiness, and you are the only legitimate critic of your own. Observe your intake, and your feelings throughout each day. Never hesitate to change or tweak your diet.
